The Southeastern Section of the MAA cites three annual award winners:
The Distinguished Service Award is given to a member of the Section who is an outstanding contributor to the Section.
The Distinguished Teaching Award honors faculty who have been extraordinarily successful in their teaching and who have had influence beyond their own institutions through their teaching.
The Distinguished Teaching by a Beginning Faculty Member Award honor beginning college or university faculty whose teaching in the Section has been extraordinarily successful and whose effectiveness in teaching is shown to have influence beyond their own classrooms. This awardee must have taught full time in a mathematical science in the Southeastern Section for at least two years, but not more than a total of seven years in any collegiate institution.
